Practicing citizenship: creation and validation of a measurement scale

Abstract This work aims to develop a scale measure the citizenship practices of individuals in Brazilian context. Citizenship is popular concept, but it difficult and operationalize due its complex multidimensional nature. It one effects desired by society, social organizations, more participatory management. Thus, development enables deeper understanding this construct, supporting public private studies actions aimed at collective well-being. Supported Marshall’s (2017) classical theory extensions, was based on picture variables traced from literature confirmed experts subject. Statistical validation performed using both factor analysis bases structural equation modeling with two samples 207 522 research subjects. As main result, statistically validated created seventeen items classified into four dimensions practices: civil, political, social, environmental.
